Milestone Capital was established to simplify the management of our own proprietary private equity investments and address demand from external investors to participate in our existing highly sucessful private equity investment program which has a +413% return net of fees from January 1 2008 to July 31st 2009 - independently verified by Ernst & Young.
The returns achieved in our existing private equity program resulted from particular investment holdings. Although there is some commonality of investment holdings, the portfolio holdings of our existing private equity program differs from the Rutherford Fund's portfolio of investment holdings. Past performance is no guarantee of future results. It is not anticipated that returns of this magnitude will be achieved going forward.
We are currently raising external capital for the Rutherford Innovation Fund, which launched on at the beginning of September 2009 with proprietary capital from several of the directors, shareholders and advisors of Milestone Capital.
The fund invests into private small to medium sized, innovative NZ companies with strong profit potential that target large, fast growing global markets. A key focus for us is in helping our portfolio companies expand offshore particularly into China where our team has strong links.
